Who We Are

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters”. Colossians 3:23

Bethlehem Homeschool Group (BHG) is a Christian-led homeschool group who aims to reach multi-ethnic and multi-aged students and their parents in the eastern part of Wake County (Knightdale, NC).

Our leadership desires to honor God and bring glory to His name in all we do.  Our director and Board strive each semester to provide a safe and Christian environment for homeschoolers.  We also encourage and support homeschooling families as they grow in their relationship with the Lord and in their educational endeavors.

BHG yields to the Lord Jesus Christ and God’s infallible Word, the Holy Bible.  God’s Word is our ultimate authority.  We heed the scripture that “children are a heritage of the Lord” (Ps. 127:3); therefore, we believe that parents are the ultimate disciple-maker of their children but believe that this is done successfully within a community of faith (the church).  We are not a church, so you are encouraged to be involved in your local church.  Yet you are always welcomed to attend worship and activities at Bethlehem Baptist Church.  Please speak to a Board member for more information.

BHG Mission and Vision statements can be found here.  We look at three primary areas to support the homeschool experience: 1) Education that aligns with the Bible; 2) Socialization that aligns with the Bible; and 3) Encouragement and Support to homeschooling families.  The Board has fashioned an extensive statement concerning these three areas.

In conclusion, we believe:

…this ministry exists for the glory of God and is grateful for the talented and vetted tutors who generously give of themselves to make our classes exciting and challenging.

…this ministry exists to encourage parents by providing opportunities for their growth; and to enhance each student’s moral character by expecting honorable and respectable behavior in the classroom and while on campus.

… for this ministry to reach its full potential, parents serve as their child’s primary teacher, disciple-maker and authority; and as such, parents should take an active part in BHG by serving as a volunteer, taking part in Bible studies and be a part of the Parent-Led Classes offered.

Thank you for considering Bethlehem Homeschool Group as a part of your homeschool journey!
